Authors & IP Owners

The story exists. What does the screen journey need?

For authors and rights holders exploring film, television, limited-series or other screen adaptation possibilities.

Book & IP-to-Screen

Adaptation is more than finding a screenwriter.

The first question I ask is: “What does this particular property need?”

I look at whether the project needs clarity around rights, a stronger adaptation proposition, a screenwriter with the right voice, development materials, producing experience or a better understanding of its most suitable format and audience.

How I Can Help

A thoughtful route towards the right people.

01

Understand the property

I consider the source material, its audience, ownership position, adaptation ambition and work already completed.

02

Identify what is missing

I clarify the creative, practical or relationship gap that needs attention before the project can move sensibly.

03

Find project fit

I research and vet appropriate screenwriters, producers or other professionals based on the needs of the project.

04

Open the conversation

I help establish the first relationship, with clear expectations and space for the people involved to assess the opportunity themselves.

Paid Engagements

The commercial structure follows the work required.

Project packaging is paid work. Defined materials such as pitch decks, budgets and business packages follow my published prices. Broader packaging and relationship work is quoted individually after I understand the project.

Commercial terms may use fixed fees, staged payments or another expressly agreed structure. No commission, percentage, backend interest or continuing participation applies unless it is clearly set out in a separate written agreement before the work begins.

What to Include

A concise introduction is enough.

  • Your name and relationship to the rights
  • Title, genre and a short premise
  • Publication status and any relevant audience information
  • What screen work or conversations have already taken place
  • What you believe the project needs next

Protect the Opportunity

Do not send the complete work at first contact.

Please do not send a full manuscript, unpublished screenplay, sensitive rights documents or confidential information unsolicited.

A synopsis-level introduction should give me enough context to assess whether a further conversation could be useful. If additional material is appropriate, I can request it and handle it under clearer terms.

An enquiry does not create representation, confidentiality, exclusivity or any guarantee of development, production, financing or introduction.
